These raspberry pumpkin pup-cakes are gluten-free and do not contain any common allergens, such as eggs, soy or cow’s milk. What they do contain is lots of healthy cancer-fighting ingredients!

This recipe is packed full of cancer fighting ingredients:

Oats: Oats contain healthy soluble fiber, making them important for digestive health – and a healthy digestive system is the foundation of a healthy body. They have also long been touted as helping to prevent cardiovascular disease and manage blood sugar levels to control diabetes. But oats also contain beta-glucans, a type of polysaccharide that may also possess anti-tumor properties.

Pumpkin: Like oats, pumpkin is a rich source of digestion-friendly soluble fiber. Pumpkin is also rich in antioxidants vitamin C and beta-carotene, helping to fight off oxidative damage from free radicals and keep your dog’s immune system strong.

Apple: The saying, “An apple a day keeps the doctor away” came about for a reason! Apples are rich in flavonoids, plant chemicals that serve as antioxidants that scavenge and destroy free radicals as well as being rich in antioxidant Vitamin C. Apples also contain the soluble fiber pectin, which promotes a health gastrointestinal environment. And, several studies have linked apple consumption with a decreased risk of cancer in people.

Coconut oil: Coconut oil is a powerful superfood that is a great addition to homemade treats. Coconut oil is great for your dog’s skin and helps to keep the immune system strong, holding antibacterial and antiviral properties. Keeping your dog’s immune system in tip-top shape is essential in helping prevent cancer.

Raspberries: These berries are packed with fiber and antioxidants making them the perfect addition to this recipe. Raspberries are also anti-inflammatory and keeping your pets inflammation at bay is critical to helping him or her stay healthy or to get back on the right track.
